A leading federal organisation is undertaking a major cloud transformation program and is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer (SysOps) to join the team immediately on a contract basis. This is a high-impact role where you'll play a key part in migrating containerised workloads from on-premises to AWS, ensuring secure, scalable, and well-architected deployments.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the migration of IaaS services to PaaS on AWS and manage EC2-based environments for enterprise workloads.
* Implement and maintain operational processes for patching, logging, monitoring, backups, and vulnerability scanning.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to align cloud infrastructure with program objectives and deliver automation and documentation.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven AWS SysOps expertise, including EC2 management and automation.
* Strong experience with container services (AWS ECR, ECS, EKS, Fargate) and on-premise Red Hat OpenShift.
* Proficiency in Linux/Windows administration, scripting (Python, UNIX), and automation tools (Ansible).
* Hands-on experience with AWS security, monitoring, and compliance tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, IAM).
Highly Desirable
* Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and secure cloud design principles.
