Job Title: Maintenance Assistant
* This is a part-time position requiring a minimum of 24 hours per week.
* The role involves working weekends and a rotating roster.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clean warehouse floors, offices, break rooms, and restrooms to maintain a clean and safe environment.
2. Ensure cleanliness and performance of duties align with departmental standards.
3. Restock supplies as needed for efficient operations.
4. Empty trash from designated areas throughout the warehouse.
5. Pull merchandise slip sheets and loose cardboard from sales floor.
6. Operate garbage compactor and cardboard baler with proper safety precautions.
7. Check daily schedule for assigned routine tasks and maintenance repair jobs.
8. Perform routine repairs, including painting, replacing bulbs, and maintaining equipment throughout the warehouse.
9. Assist with installing and repairing building displays and fixtures.
10. Purchase necessary supplies and parts for projects.
11. Maintain grounds outside warehouse, including leaf blowing, litter pickup, and building maintenance.
12. Fully comply with all safety and security procedures, wearing safety goggles when using compactor and baler and product disposal.
13. Respond quickly to spills and clean up promptly.
14. Assist in other areas of the warehouse as required.
15. Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors.
Requirements:
* Higher School Certificate or higher level of education.
* Janitor, maintenance, or comparable experience.
* Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
