The Director of Community and Sector Development plays a crucial part in leading a priority portfolio to strengthen community control and bolster community sector foundations. This includes delivering projects and initiatives focused on policy, regulatory systems, workforce development, leadership, collective impact, and future sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide strategic leadership and vision for the state and future of Victoria's community sector.
* Develop and implement projects and initiatives that promote community, organization, and workforce development.
* Work closely with stakeholders, including government, peak bodies, and community organizations, to advance policy debates and advocate for social justice.
* Lead research and advocacy efforts on priority issues such as regulation, funding, and conditions that impact the community sector.
* Manage sector-government forums, conferences, and events to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need significant experience in executive or senior management roles within the not-for-profit sector, with a proven track record of leading successful organizations or initiatives focused on community and sector development, advocacy, and capacity building. You will also require extensive knowledge of the social and community services sector, including workforce and skills issues, funding and regulatory environments, data opportunities, and challenges.
