We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Budget Analyst to support our budgeting, forecasting and financial management processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate budget development, reconciliation and reporting in alignment with State Treasury approvals.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with budget preparation and development processes, including the use of SIMS
* Analyse internal Budget Centre allocations and provide recommendations on additional funding requests
* Reconcile works programs, analysing Budget vs Actual vs Forecast vs extrapolated actuals
* Ensure internal budgeting systems are accurately reconciled with State Treasury approvals
* Support the preparation of consolidated annual and out‐years programs
* Assist in the development, monitoring and reporting of budgets and financial programs
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Proven experience in accounting and account reconciliations
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data
* A Diploma or Degree in Finance (or a closely related discipline)
Desirable
* Experience in flow charting or process mapping
* Previous public sector work experience
