Speech Pathologists at Monash Children’s Hospital sit within the Monash Children’s Hospital Allied Health Team, providing specialised assessment and management of infants and children within the hospital setting in the areas of communication and swallowing/feeding. Each team within Monash Children’s Hospital Allied Health is led by a Profession Lead who operationally reports to the Monash Children’s Allied Health Manager.
We are looking for a highly experienced and passionate Grade 4, Senior Lead Speech Pathologist for a permanent on-going part time role (4 days per week /
A Day in the Life:
The Profession Lead Speech Pathologist is responsible for leading the speech pathology team within Monash Children’s Allied Health. You will be highly experienced in hospital based speech pathology services and responsible for the leadership of high quality evidence based speech pathology services across Monash Children’s and Monash Newborns (Monash Children's Hospital, Casey Hospital, Sandringham Hospital and Dandenong Hospital).
Whilst maintaining a clinical caseload in your area of expertise, you will lead clinical research and clinical teaching activities, achieve maximal operational effectiveness, develop organisational competencies, and creating strong partnerships within and outside Monash Health. You will supervise speech pathologists and provide clinical education for students. This position is based within Monash Children’s Hospital however travel to and work at any Monash Health site will be required.

6. Eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
7. Preferably at least 10 years of demonstrated advanced clinical skills in working with infants/children with complex medical conditions
8. Demonstrated experience in research, teaching and training
9. Post Graduate studies relevant to speech pathology, paediatric research, management, public health or project management
