Job Tasks and Responsibilities
We're looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee operations, drive growth, and ensure excellence in production, sales, and compliance.
* Oversee end-to-end operations including production, inventory, logistics, and dispatch
* Manage daily facility operations and ensure smooth workflow across departments
* Lead, coach, and motivate staff including production, sales, and administration teams
* Maintain high standards of product quality, hygiene, and food safety (HACCP/FSANZ)
* Implement and monitor targets and KPIs
* Collaborate with owners on growth strategies such as new products and markets
* Manage supplier relationships and control input costs
* Forecast and manage stock levels according to seasonal demand
* Ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance
* Drive sales through business development, wholesale relationships, and pricing strategies
* Monitor financial performance including budgets, costs, and profitability
* Maintain all necessary licenses, certifications, and regulatory compliance
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven leadership or operations experience within the meat, FMCG, or food production sectors
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and cold chain logistics
* Business acumen with budget management and growth identification skills
* Hands-on leadership ability, capable of operating strategically and practically
* Excellent people management and communication skills
* Experience working in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
* Preferred experience in smallgoods or meat processing
