Job Summary
AECOM’s Geoscience and Remediation Services Workgroup has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior Hydrogeologist to join our Brisbane team.
This role will give you the opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team of Hydrogeologists and Geoscientists on a diverse range of projects for clients across resources, water, infrastructure, and government. These projects allow for the assessment of geological, geotechnical, and groundwater information to understand and conceptualise the hydrogeological regimes, develop conceptual and numerical hydrogeological models, and management of groundwater resources.
This is a technical role, where your time will be divided between field and office, allows for technical development on challenging studies, project ownership, and career development.
The role allows for the opportunity to work with offices across Australia and Southeast Asia, mentoring and developing junior staff plus face-to-face client liaison and the delivery and presentation of technical reports.
As a Senior Hydrogeologist with AECOM, your role will include:
* Project management and proposal preparation of hydrogeological investigations
* Design and supervision of the installation of water supply, CSG monitoring and water monitoring bores, including geological and geophysical downhole logging
* Field program logistics and undertaking and assessing groundwater, soils, and sediments samples
* Review and correcting field staff deliverables allowing for upskilling of junior team members
* Preparation of factual and interpretative hydrogeological reports
* Management of budgets, site health and safety requirements, and supervision of subcontractors
* Conceptual groundwater models and working with modellers
* Develop and maintain groundwater databases.
This role is paying between $130,000-150,000 total remuneration package incl. super depending on skills and experience.
Our teams operate as a South East Queensland Region and employees are given the freedom to work across any of our Brisbane, Gold Coast or Maroochydore locations.
Minimum Requirements
* Significant experience in a similar role
* Previous experience in coal seam gas investigations, complex drilling and groundwater bore installation working with the CSG code of practice, geological and downhole well logging, pumping test and analysis
* Assessment of hydrochemistry and interpretation of chemistry data
* Mining, infrastructure, and contaminated land assessment experience – highly regarded
* Technical report writing capabilities
* Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic, deadline driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Science, specialising in geology/hydrogeology with chemistry - essential
* Post graduate qualification – highly regarded
* Manual (open) driver’s licence – essential
* Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data management systems.
