Make a difference where it matters most.

The National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) is seeking a Division Organiser to join our South Australian Division in a rewarding, purpose-driven role. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful campaigns that support members, strengthen collective action and advance the interests of staff across universities in South Australia.

Working as part of a committed organising and industrial team, you will play a hands-on role in recruitment, campaigning and member engagement, working closely with Division Officers, Branch Committees and activists across the state.

This is a part-time position (0.8 FTE), primarily based in the Adelaide Division Office, with allocated time working across SA university branches, including Flinders University, requiring regular travel.

About the role

As Division Organiser, you will be at the forefront of building power for NTEU members across South Australia. Working closely with Branches, delegates and activists, you will lead recruitment, organising and campaign activity that strengthens collective action and delivers real outcomes in universities. This is a hands-on role that puts you where change happens on campus, with members.

You will help grow confident, active networks by supporting enterprise bargaining, workplace campaigns and delegate development, while producing clear, compelling communications that keep members informed and engaged. Working as part of a committed team, and with the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities at Level 6, you will contribute to a strong, democratic union that stands up for staff in higher education.

You are an organised, motivated and values-driven professional with:

4. Experience in organising, campaigning, advocacy or membership-based environments
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills
6. The ability to build trust and influence across diverse stakeholder groups
7. Confidence managing multiple projects and priorities
8. A collaborative approach and commitment to collective outcomes

Experience in the tertiary education or union sector will be highly regarded.

What's on offer

9. Part-time role (0.8 FTE) with meaningful, flexible work
10. Conditions covered by a national collective agreement, with terms comparable to NTEU members
11. A rewarding career with a progressive, member-focused organisation
