We are currently recruiting for an Analyst to help build coverage of the Australian REIT universe as well as provide detailed data and analytics on real estate dynamics for the major real estate markets in Australia. The Australian team will be fully integrated within Green Street’s global research team and report to the Head of Research for Europe & APAC based in London.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate a solid understanding of Green Street’s views, research framework, and processBe able to place the assigned sector in the context of broader macroeconomic outlookDemonstrate a detailed grasp of fundamentals of assigned sector and make industry forecastsDeep understanding of the financials, portfolios, and managements of covered companiesOversee the preparation of detailed financial models/valuation, projections, and databases by AssociatesDemonstrate a command of and full autonomy over sector’s financial modelsMonitor and analyze industry macro, market, real estate, and company news and trends including strategy changes, mergers, acquisitions and earningsParticipate in quarterly company earnings callsMaintain and defend published REIT investment recommendationsBuild and maintain relationships with management teams, institutional clients, private-market contacts, and mediaPeriodic travel to visit real estate, management teams, and clientsSuccinctly and capably speak on assigned sector or companies, both internally and externallyAchieve Sales-directed level of client phone calls and visits throughout the yearProactively respond to news and communicate changes in views with Sales and clientsPrimary authorship of sector research reports – both periodic, ongoing reports and thought-leading new researchTrain and develop junior team members (Associates and/or Senior Associates)RequirementsIn addition to a strong work ethic, track record of superior work product, and the potential to take on more senior roles in the future, the Research Analyst position requires the following skills: meticulous attention to detail, strong financial modeling, valuation, and research skills, intellectual curiosity, exceptional communication (both written and verbal), a high level of organization, creativity and resourcefulness, and an ability to work independently and multi-task.
