In Australia, we successfully brought this vision to life, dedicating years to research and development to create the safest containment system globally. Our relentless pursuit led to a significant reduction in disposal-related needlestick injuries nationwide, an achievement that exceeded 80%.
We are now seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Daniels Health. As a key member, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and documenting solutions for our businesses worldwide. This role encompasses various projects, including product development, equipment engineering, and process improvements, with a focus on quality management and supplier partnerships.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop new and existing product lines and processes through design and prototyping.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and improvement initiatives.
3. Create innovative concepts and system architectures based on product briefs and requirement documents.
4. Design and engineer products using SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
5. Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manufacture prototypes.
6. Fabricate prototypes and test their functionality.
7. Establish and execute test protocols, ensuring adherence to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
8. Document all aspects of product development, including risk management and quality assurance.
9. Design and qualify production jigs and fixtures to support routine manufacturing.
10. Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback on developed concepts and products.
11. Update existing products and documentation through our change management system.
12. Analyze quality data to identify opportunities for product improvement.
13. Support project managers and team members with various tasks and responsibilities.
14. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and maintain knowledge of relevant products and solutions.
15. C Manage small to medium-sized projects independently, communicating key milestones to stakeholders.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics) degree.
2. A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in product development, equipment engineering, and materials science.
3. Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 2D drawings, 3D modeling, configurations, and BOMs.
4. Experience with tolerances and technical drawing standards (AS110).
5. Knowledge of plastic part design and manufacturing principles.
6. Attention to detail, creativity, and ability to work autonomously.
7. Possibility of occasional travel required.
8. Ideal candidate is registered with Engineers Australia.
9. Familiarity with machinery safety standards (AS4024).
