An opportunity based in Karratha for an Employment and Training Officer
RRKAC Pathways Support team is responsible for implementing community development, education, employment pathways, housing pathways and capacity building programs, as well as providing quality individual and group support.
As the Employment and Training Officer you will lead the establishment of the RRK Employment Hub and work with the wider Community Impact team and members in training and employment opportunities, to achieve financial independence and improved social and emotional wellbeing. You will be responsible for building relationships with training and employment providers and employers to achieve this.
A key aspect of this role involves liaising with our commercial arm, Robe River Services, to identify and promote workforce opportunities for members. This partnership aims to create sustainable employment pathways and strengthen community engagement in member owned businesses and local industry.
Key responsibilities for this role include;
* Work with community members and organizations to increase understanding of RRKAC's role and activities, and their engagement in specific initiatives.
* Identify opportunities to partner with other organizations to deliver training and employment programs that benefit RRK people, draft proposals for consideration by the team and management.
* Identify opportunities for training and employment pathways to meet the workforce development needs of RRK people.
* Help to plan and facilitate community engagement events.
* Work closely with the RRKAC teams, to provide an integrated service delivery approach to members
* Identify suitable accredited and non-accredited training pathways to meet training and development needs of members.
* Work closely with existing stakeholders to continue the delivery of Career Expos, New to Industry programs and other opportunities that increase employment outcomes.
* Attend and participate in team and staff meetings, including presenting cases for consultation and discussion.
* Contribute to the development/improvement of effective systems and practice that will better support and enable members to access the resources available to them.
* Maintain a strong commitment to the principles that underpin the service model and ensure that members experiences and expertise informs the refinement and continuous improvement of the program.
* Champion Traditional Owner inclusion and capability building

RKKAC is an Aboriginal organisation, with over 400 members aged 18+. Based in Karratha, Western Australia, the organisation's vision is to work together as a community to establish a solid foundation towards independence, community wellbeing, cultural identity, and healthy Country now and for future generations.
Robe River Kuruma Aboriginal Corporation (RRKAC) is the registered native title body corporate for Robe River Kuruma (RRK) native title determined areas.
To be successful in this role you will have;
* Tertiary qualifications or 3 years relevant experience in similar role
* Demonstrated experience in delivering education, training, and workforce development initiatives
* Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, particularly with mining and industry partners.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrate high regard for confidentiality.
* Experience working or training in delivering culturally appropriate and trauma informed best practise community services.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and for Aboriginal people, at-risk youth and people who have experienced complex trauma.
* Model desired workplace behaviours including effectively resolve conflict resolution skills.
* Hold a current National Police Check (or ability to obtain), Working with Children check and Drug and Alcohol test
