BlackBay Lawyers is Australia's first law firm to integrate litigation strategy with crisis communications and digital reputation management. We act for ASX-listed executives, founders, and public figures in matters where legal outcomes alone are not enough, reputation, narrative, and timing matter just as much.
We are seeking a digital communications & SEO professional to lead BlackBay's in-house digital reputation capability and work collaboratively with our clients' external PR, communications, and media advisers to protect, rebuild, and strengthen reputations in high-stakes environments.
This is not a traditional marketing role. It is a client-facing, judgment-driven position sitting alongside litigators on matters that frequently attract media attention, regulatory scrutiny, and commercial risk.

Core Responsibilities
* Lead search visibility, authority, and narrative control across BlackBay and selected client matters
* Design and execute suppression, clean-up, and profile-building strategies where reputational harm exists
* Integrate SEO, content, and digital PR with active litigation and crisis strategies
Client-Facing Advisory & Pitch
* Attend client meetings and pitches with partners to explain the digital component clearly and credibly
* Act as a trusted digital advisor to executives, founders, and public figures
* Translate complex digital concepts into calm, commercial advice under pressure
Collaboration with External PR & Communications Teams
* Coordinate digital execution with clients' retained PR, media, and crisis communications agencies
* Ensure online visibility, search results, and content outcomes support agreed media and legal strategies
* Maintain strong professional relationships with referrers and communications partners
* Track search visibility, sentiment, and emerging digital risks
* Implement early-warning systems for reputational threats
* Produce concise Digital Reputation Risk briefings for partners and clients
Content & Authority Building
* Secure high-authority placements across news, trade, and industry publications
* Guide the creation of compliant, search-optimised, media-ready content
* Ensure all digital activity aligns with legal, ethical, and compliance requirements

Skills & Experience
* 4+ years in SEO, digital PR, or online reputation management - ideally in agency or high-stakes brand environments.
* Demonstrated success in improving search visibility and managing reputations online.
* Confident presenter - able to explain complex digital concepts in simple terms to senior, non-technical clients.
* High emotional intelligence and discretion when handling sensitive information.
* Strong writing skills for both search-optimised and media-ready content.
* Bonus: familiarity with legal, compliance, or crisis comms environments.
