Role: Orientation & Mobility Specialist
Our team provides vital services for individuals with low vision or blindness, empowering them to overcome barriers and build independent lives. Our mission is to create opportunities, champion accessibility, and inclusivity.
As an experienced Orientation & Mobility specialist, you will join our Dubbo team on a Permanent full-time or part-time basis. Your primary focus will be providing O&M services to support individuals with vision impairment in developing independence in daily living activities.
We are committed to helping students interested in becoming qualified O&M specialists via the UNSW Grad Diploma in O&M pathway. We offer:
* A supervised work integrated learning O&M placement with GDN.
* Financial support towards Graduate Diploma of O&M course (up to $9,000).
* Relocation assistance available.
* 2026 Graduate O&M offer within the Albury/Dubbo team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responding to client requests and support enquiries.
* Maintaining effective communication and professional relationships.
* Conducting individualised O&M assessments and communicating results.
* Planning instructional programs and training clients in orientation and mobility techniques.
* Monitoring client progress and intervening as necessary to ensure client safety.
