This is not your typical compliance‑heavy accounting role. No being stuck behind the scenes processing returns all day. This is a client‑facing role focused on ownership, relationships and advisory.
The Role:
Manage your own portfolio of small business clients end‑to‑end
Build strong, proactive client relationships
Prepare and review BAS, payroll, EOFY and tax compliance work
Run client meetings including AGMs and performance discussions
Identify opportunities to add value across your client base
Provide clear, practical advice in plain English
Review work completed by junior staff
Support and mentor junior team members
Ensure client records and systems are accurate and up to date
Manage your workflow to deliver work accurately and on time
Contribute to continuous improvement across systems and processes
About You:
4-5+ years' experience in public practice accounting
CA qualified
Strong Xero experience (essential)
Solid experience across BAS, payroll and EOFY compliance
Ability to manage your own client portfolio
Confident communicator who can explain financial concepts clearly
Proactive, organised and solutions‑focused
Takes ownership and follows through
Experience reviewing or supporting junior staff (highly regarded)
Exposure to advisory, tax planning or client meetings (desirable)
