Reporting intothe Technical Engineering Manager, theMechanical Engineerwill join our Engineering Department on aFull-time Permanentbasis at ourGuildford PDC.This role involves creating certified, safe, and legally compliant engineered solutions for WesTrac, including designing, developing, and capturing certified Dealer Provided Options (DPO) for external customers, as well as the design and assessment of certified workshop equipment and tools.
Roster:Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours/day (including meal break)
WhatYou'llDo:
* Create approved engineering designs and solutions.
* Analyse Dealer Provided Options (DPO) with stakeholders, suppliers, and CAT systems to meet customer requirements.
* Conduct compliance, safety, and risk assessments, manual calculations, stress analysis, and document designs.
* Produce risk reports, functional safety assessments, quality documents, and manufacturing packs.
* Provide ad-hoc engineering support andmaintainrecords in line with WesTrac quality systems.
Skills & Experience:
* Knowledge of regulations, standards, and guidelines, including Health, Safety, and Environment standards.
* Proficiencyin manual design calculations, engineering documentation, and technical review for machine modifications.
* Understanding of Australian and International design standards.
* Experience in resolving mechanical issues for mobile equipment.
* Project management skills, delivering business-focused outcomes, and experience working in project-based teams.
* Strong initiative, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Proficiencyin Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Nastran.
* Professional Engineering (PE - Stage 1 Competency) status with Engineers Australia.
* Experience in finite element analysis (FEA) is desirable.
