Your new role
Hays is exclusively representing a growing school with the appointment of a School Business Manager. This role will have multiple reporting lines: Administration, Finance, HR, Infrastructure, IT, Marketing, Procurement and WHS. This role will be reporting directly to the school Principal.
Responsibilities and duties will include: School Administration: Supports the Office Manager with enrolments, key reporting, Advisory Board support, and general assistance to senior leadership.Human Resources: Assists the HR Officer with payroll, recruitment, enrolments, and general HR administration.
Infrastructure & Facilities: Supports the Infrastructure Manager with facility and grounds management.
ICT: Assists the ICT Manager with IT systems and resource management.
Finance: Supports budgeting, cashflow, financial delegations, and funding applications.
College Buses: Assists with bus operations, policy, and program management.
Procurement & Contracts: Manages purchasing, suppliers, contractors, and contracts.
Marketing: Assists with marketing and promotions activities.
Compliance & Governance: Manages risk, WHS, legislative compliance, and governance reporting.
Strategic Planning: Contributes to strategic, financial, and business planning.
Stakeholder Management: Liaises with internal departments and community stakeholders.
Other Duties: Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Principal or Catholic Education Office.
What you'll need to succeed CPA/CA qualification or equivalent tertiary degree.
Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.
Minimum five years' experience as a Business Manager or in a senior corporate services role.
Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
Commitment to Catholic education values and child safeguarding.
Collaborative and people‑focused working style.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CIA or similar systems is an advantage.
High attention to detail, discretion, and a strong commitment to service excellence.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, motivate staff, and manage multiple complex areas.
Ability to support strategic planning and develop long‑term financial sustainability strategies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with staff, parents, and stakeholders.
NT Working With Children Clearance (Ochre Card) or willingness to obtain.
