Wests Group Macarthur is a progressive group in Sydney's South-West, comprising of Western Suburbs League Club Campbelltown, Wests Tennis Club Campbelltown, Country Club Gledswood Hills and Lakeside Golf Club Camden.
We are looking for an experienced full time Gardner / Grounds Person who is motivated, passionate and takes pride in how our business is maintained and presented. You will be reporting to the Facilities Manager and responsible for undertaking all facets of gardening and landscape maintenance across our hospitality venues including garden maintenance and beautification, seasonal planting, cleanliness of grounds, public areas and car parks.
**Duties include but are not limited to**:
- Assisting with special projects involving club improvements and renovations
- General maintenance duties and repairs
- Manual labouring tasks as required
- Alerting the Facilities Manager to any problem areas
- Planting, weeding, pruning, mulching and rubbish removal
- Mowing lawns and edging
- General grounds maintenance and cleaning
- Pest and weed control
- Maintaining tennis courts, carparks and the surrounds of the Club
- Implementing changes to landscaping and gardens
- Undertaking gardening projects
- Assist the maintenance team in general maintenance as required
- Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or their delegate
- Ensure compliance with employee policies, procedures and employee handbook
- Ensure breaks are taken in accordance with the Award
- Ensure and promote teamwork by assisting other team members where possible and practicable
**The successful applicant will have**:
- Demonstrated experience in a variety of building maintenance duties and tasks including but not limited to painting, gardening, plumbing, carpentry and general maintenance in our hospitality venues
- Previous experience working in a similar role (minimum 5 years' experience)
- Well-developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding time management with proven ability prioritise and meet deadlines
- Display professional, quality work standards and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A strong commitment to our organisational values
- Sound and visual experience would be advantageous
- Physically fit & well presented
- Knowledge of WHS standards and a commitment to workplace safety
- Current driver's licence
- WHS white Card
- Trade certificate or equivalent
- NSW Drivers Licence
- Must be available for weekend work on a 7 day rotating roster
