Details: The Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Department is seeking an Educator Level Two to support high‐quality vocational training across hairdressing, barbering, makeup, and beauty therapy programs from Certificate III to Diploma level. Working within a dynamic team, this role contributes to educational leadership through program design, continuous improvement, industry engagement, and innovative training delivery.
The position also supports the coordination and operation of the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) Hair and Beauty Bar, as well as department events and competitions. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the role includes active teaching, assessment, and the facilitation of engaging, inclusive, and industry‐aligned learning experiences. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping student success and strengthening pathways within a vibrant and collaborative training environment.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
All employees engaged at the Educator Level Two classification with Vocational Education Training (VET) responsibilities must:
* Hold a Training and Assessment Certificate IV level qualification (such as a TAE40116 or equivalent);
* Hold a Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (or equivalent) with high-level qualifications desirable
DESIRABLE
* Adult learning and development qualifications, as well as leadership and management, business, or commerce related bachelor level qualifications and/or relevant industry specialisations.
* Industry experience within Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy Industries or related fields is highly desirable
* Leadership experience.
* Knowledge and experience of User choice / apprenticeship programs.
