Ballarat Roadworthy Centre is looking for a highly organised Automotive Estimator to step into a core, trusted role within our growing operation.
This is a senior, trusted role central to daily operations. You'll sit at the centre of our workshop and admin teams—turning service requests, inspections, diagnostics into accurate, profitable estimates, while also supporting the service advisor and admin function when required.

About the Role
You will be responsible for producing accurate, timely estimates and ensuring parts and labour are correctly scoped before work begins. You'll also assist the admin and service advisor team during leave, breaks, and busy periods, making strong people skills and computer confidence essential.
Key responsibilities include:
Interpreting roadworthy inspections, service reports and diagnostics into clear estimates
Sourcing and ordering OEM and quality aftermarket parts at competitive pricing
Tracking parts deliveries and confirming readiness ahead of bookings
Maintaining labour rates, parts matrices and pricing accuracy
Liaising with technicians to clarify scope and reduce delays or rework
Assisting with customer communication and job updates when required
Using workshop management and estimating systems confidently and accurately
About You
Experience as an estimator, parts interpreter or service advisor (highly regarded)
OR a qualified mechanic ready to move off the tools into a key office-based role
Strong understanding of repair processes, labour times and vehicle systems (light & heavy)
Confident computer and systems user – accuracy and speed matter
Professional communicator who can deal with customers and staff calmly
Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple quotes without losing detail
