Job Summary
The ICT Systems Test Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, executing, and managing testing activities to ensure the quality, reliability, performance, and security of ICT systems and applications. The role involves close collaboration with development, business, and infrastructure teams to validate system functionality against business and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse business and technical requirements to develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
Design and execute functional, system, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Develop and maintain test scripts, test data, and test environments.
Identify, document, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
Perform automated testing using industry-standard tools and frameworks where applicable.
Validate system interfaces, data integrity, security controls, and performance benchmarks.
Coordinate testing activities across multiple systems and platforms, including web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
Ensure compliance with organisational standards, SDLC, and quality assurance processes.
Support deployment activities and conduct post-implementation testing.
Prepare test reports, metrics, and quality status updates for stakeholders.
Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.
Experience in manual and automated testing.
Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM, TestRail).
Knowledge of API testing, database testing, and integration testing.
Understanding of performance, load, and security testing concepts.
Familiarity with scripting languages and automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG).
Ability to interpret technical design documents and system architecture.
Soft Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent) are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in system and application testing.
Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall environments.
