Succession Partners is partnering with a highly respected specialist services firm in the Insurance sector to appoint a Head of Finance & Account Operations — a senior leadership role with real influence across finance, operations, regulatory delivery, and client outcomes.
This is a critical appointment, reporting directly to the CEO, and suited to a technically strong, commercially minded leader who thrives at the intersection of finance, operations, people leadership, and regulatory assurance.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will have end-to-end accountability for Finance and Account Operations, ensuring both functions operate in lockstep to deliver accurate, compliant, timely, and scalable services to a sophisticated client base including insurers, reinsurers, underwriting agencies and Lloyd's coverholders.
You'll act as a trusted internal and external authority, balancing technical excellence with pragmatic leadership as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide senior leadership and integration across Finance and Account Operations
* Act as the escalation point for complex financial, operational, and reporting matters
* Ensure delivery of all client financial and regulatory obligations with absolute accuracy
* Partner closely with the CEO, Director of Regulatory Affairs & Assurance, and Head of Risk & Compliance
* Drive operational excellence, workflow optimisation, and continuous improvement
* Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers and their teams
* Deliver clear reporting, insights, and forward-looking capacity planning to support growth
What We're Looking For
* 10+ years' experience in a senior finance/operations role within the General Insurance sector
* Strong knowledge of insurance accounting, operations, and APRA prudential frameworks
* Proven experience advising clients on complex technical and financial matters
* CA or CPA qualification (mandatory)
* A confident, values-led people leader with a strong client-centric mindset
* Exceptional attention to detail, paired with commercial judgement
