Senior Open Pit Geologist
This is a pivotal role that contributes to the success of landmark projects in APAC. The position involves optimizing ore extraction and defining waste material for ARD purposes, providing back-to-back cover for the Superintendent.
The Senior Open Pit Geologist supervises, trains, and develops a team, coordinating daily and monthly responsibilities with mining activities and evaluating geological, mine, and metallurgical deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build Relationships: Develop internal relationships with key departments and sub-departments.
* Design Grade Blocks: Design grade blocks according to departmental classifications and best practice for control of dilution and loss.
* Mine Management: Monitor mining practices and markups to ensure consistency in material types.
* Material Validation: Validate and maintain material movement statistics.
* Department Representation: Represent the Mining Department in production meetings.
* Staff Training: Train and supervise MRM staff for technical tasks.
* Reconciliation and Cost Control: Participate in reconciliation processes and cost control initiatives.
* Technical Support: Provide high-quality technical support to related RDMC Operations Departments.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science Degree: Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field required.
* Experience: Significant experience in a similar role at an open pit operation.
* Licence and Permit: Willingness to obtain a Pakistan Driving Licence and Pit Driving Permit.
* Software Proficiency: Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Leapfrog, and Vulcan.
* Communication: Proven ability to communicate effectively.
* Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
