ABOUT FUTURE FORWARD AUSTRALIA (FFA)
Future Forward Australia (FFA) was founded in February 2025 by Eliza Chaney and
McCarthy Hanlin. It is a social club for purpose. A national collective of young
people who come together to connect, build networks, make friends, and
collaborate with a united purpose of driving positive, progressive change for
Australia. It is an opportunity to both develop oneself and a vision of a better
future.

Our vision is to build a collective movement that connects and uplifts individuals,
organisations, and issues that matter, while driving meaningful change across key
focus areas, including:
Climate Change
Economic Prosperity
Education
Health
Equity & Inclusion
Our mission is to engage, upskill and connect young Australians by bringing
people and ideas together in a way that can drive change. Future Forward
Australia is committed to empowering young people and driving sustainable
progress for our country. Through a range of programs and initiatives, we strive to
create a brighter future for all Australians, with youth voices at the centre.

We aspire to achieve this through three key channels:
Plugged-In: Our short-form news and current affairs series aimed at driving engagement with big issues, posted to our social media pages.
Podium: Our longer form write-ups published on our websites providing opportunities for young people to give their ideas on the issues that matter to them.
Future Connect: Our events, collaborations and an online directory network of organisations and individuals working towards a better Australia, designed to connect and bring together momentum for change.

ROLE OVERVIEW
As FFA's Social Media Manager, you will be the custodian of our social channels,
with primary responsibility for keeping our platforms active, consistent, and
high-quality. This is a hands-on role with significant autonomy: you will schedule
and publish content, write captions, ensure quality control (spelling, grammar,
accuracy), and manage day-to-day community engagement across Instagram
(primary), TikTok, LinkedIn, and any new channels as they come online.
You will work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to align with FFA's
voice and priorities, escalating when needed, but you'll largely "run the social side"
of the organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Channel ownership and publishing
Own day-to-day management of FFA's social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and others as they launch).
Schedule, upload, and publish posts, stories, reels, and short-form updates in line with FFA's content calendar.
Write and edit captions, hashtags, alt text (where relevant), and basic creative copy aligned to FFA's tone of voice.
Quality control and accuracy
Proof all social content for spelling, grammar, clarity, and consistency before publishing.
Sense-check posts for accuracy and alignment with FFA's mission and pillar areas; flag any risks or sensitivities to the CMO before posting.
Community management
Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and engagement in a timely and friendly manner, escalating sensitive or complex enquiries to the CMO/founders.
Maintain a positive, inclusive community tone and help moderate content in line with basic guidelines (e.g., removing spam, handling inappropriate comments).
Content coordination and collaboration
Work with FFA contributors and internal teams to translate programs and updates into social-ready content.
Support campaigns for FFA channels including Plugged-In, Podium, and Future Connect (e.g., event promotion, calls for submissions, partnership spotlights).
Performance tracking and continuous improvement
Track basic performance metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth, saves/shares) and share a simple update with the CMO on what's working.
Test and iterate content formats (e.g., reels vs carousels, hooks, posting times) to improve engagement over time.
Participate in idea generation sessions to enhance marketing strategies

REPORTING & COLLABORATION
Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer (or designated executive leader)
Collaborates with: Founders, program leads, content contributors, and partners (as needed for content inputs and approvals)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
A passion for youth-led movements and social change.
Interest in (or experience with) running social accounts for a club, community group, or small organisation.
Strong written communication and attention to detail (copy, captions, proofreading).
Familiarity with Instagram in particular (Reels, Stories, carousels, basic platform norms); TikTok and LinkedIn familiarity is a plus.

Innovative & Entrepreneurial: Proactively identifies opportunities and adapts to changing environments.
Results-Oriented: Sets ambitious targets and pursues them with tenacity and focus.
Collaborative Mindset: Thrives in a team environment, supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge.
