Job DescriptionThe purpose of the ICT Support Technician/Specialist Technician position is to be responsible for administration and maintenance of school network and ICT environments.
In addition, identifying, escalating and managing issues through to resolution.
This role is open across regional areas only.
Full-time, part-time and casual positions availableWork onsite in Victorian school environment as a technical specialistWork autonomously with a strong mentoring programSet hours Mon-Fri, no on-call, no weekend work
ResponsibilitiesServer and Network administrationDemonstrated networking knowledge, including VLAN, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP servicesExperience in virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V and/or CitrixHands-on configuration and troubleshooting of hardware like servers, firewalls, switches and wireless infrastructureInterpersonal skills & ability to explain technical concepts to stakeholders at all levelsGeneral computer hardware and software supportActive Directory and Group Policy management and administration skillsService Desk and end user device supportBYOD management and supportCloud MDM Management and ConfigurationData Protection & Disaster recoveryOnsite/Cloud deployment including Windows, Apple and Chrome OSTechnical document writing including instructional and training materials for leadership and usersStrategic ICT planning with school leadershipMaintenance of ICT network documentation
QualificationsTertiary education desirable (Cert 4 in IT Systems Administration or similar preferable)Experience in CloudflareCertification in relevant technologies (e.g. vCloud, MCSA, CompTIA)Previous ICT/Helpdesk experience within schools highly desirable
Personal AttributesMotivated, self-starter - able to work autonomously, or as part of a team as the work dictatesResourceful - able to find and research information to derive appropriate solutions to problemsA good communicator - able to clearly communicate using appropriate language to accommodate the stakeholderAbility to troubleshoot through systematic processes of observation and elimination
Additional Attributes (Highly Regarded)Relevant experience in an educational setting, along with knowledge of wireless deployment and Department initiativesPrevious experience with planning, deployment and management of 1 to 1 user/devices in an enterprise environmentDemonstrates the ability to plan and run ICT professional development sessions and work collaboratively with the Schools' ICT ManagementPrior experience supporting Specialist Technicians in delivering projects
