Tamworth Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 14-bed unit that houses a diverse range of patients varying in levels of complexity, both within the medical and surgical spaces. As their newest Registered Nurse (RN), you will be providing a high level of care to critically ill patients and providing lifesaving treatments, including the use of ventilators and lifesaving medications. As a high acuity ward, you will make a real difference to the outcome of the patients' wellbeing – if you want a fast-paced and rewarding role, then look no further than the ICU.
You won't be working alone. You will be supported by the Clinical Nurse Unit Manager (CNUM) on the floor of the ward and the Nurse Manager of Critical Care Services, who proudly boasts an open-door policy for her team. There is a large education team made up of Clinical Nurse Educators (CNE's) and Nurse Educators (NE's) to help you progress your learning and development. The nursing staff work closely with the medical and allied health teams to support the care of the patients, and the sense of camaraderie amongst your new colleagues is genuine. Collaboration and teamwork are at the forefront of what they do, and the team are regularly recognised for it.
