Key Responsibilities:
* Schedule and Record Financial Transactions
* Analyze Data to Ensure Accuracy and Timeliness
* Collaborate with Accounting Teams Across Domestic and International Locations
* Prepare and Peer Review Complex Spreadsheets for Intercompany Cost Allocations
* Ensure Proper Accounting, Billing, and Settlement of Secondments with Other Legal Entities
* Work with Multiple Ledger/Accounting Bases of Reporting and Ensure Reconciliation Across Ledgers
* Complete Quarterly and Year-End Close Activities, Including Preparation and/or Peer Review of Accruals, Schedules, Entries for Pension, Share Awards, Group Recharges, Fixed Assets, and Litigation Fee Reclasses
* Perform and/or Peer Review Quarterly Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Research and Resolve Variances
* Complete and/or Peer Review Statutory Exhibits, Footnotes, and Analytics and Schedules to Support Tax Entries
* Support/Cross Train to Serve as Backup for Sr. Accountant Who Handles Cash Functions
* Build Strong, Working Relationships with Local, Kansas City, and NY Hub Accounting Staff
* Propose and Implement Process Improvements as Necessary to Achieve Optimal Efficiency and Effectiveness
* Work with Auditors and Handle Requests as Needed to Ensure Timely and Successful Completion of Audits
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience working in complex intercompany cost sharing agreements across multiple legal entities.

Requirements:
* 8+ Years of Relevant Finance and/or Accounting Experience
* Experience in Insurance/Reinsurance Accounting or Financial Services (Preferred)
* Experience Working for a Company with Multiple Legal Entities (Preferred)
* Advanced Excel Skills Required, Including Ability to Build and Update Complex Spreadsheets, Mastery of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, and Experience with Power Pivot and Power Query
* SAP Experience Required, Preferably in FI & CO Modules, Posting Entries, Running Reports, and Performing Research
* Proven Ability to Lead and Own Processes with Little Management Oversight
* Strong Attention to Detail, While Working Effectively in a Fast-Paced Environment and Managing Multiple Priorities
* Demonstration of Solid Analytic and Critical Thinking Skills with Strong Problem-Solving Ability
* Strong Interpersonal Skills Along with Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
* Ability to Work with and Manage Large Amounts of Data
* Ability to Work Cooperatively and Collaboratively with Individuals at All Levels within the Organization to Maximize Performance, Creativity, Problem Solving, and Results
* Dependable with a Strong Sense of Urgency and Ability to Work Extended Hours as Necessary to Meet Deadlines
* Very Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills
