About the Role
Are you ready to drive meaningful change in one of NSW's most vital industries? We're looking for a strategic thinker and policy expert to take a leading role in the development of the NSW Government Agriculture Sector Strategy - a bold initiative to unlock sustainable growth, strengthen exports, and future-proof agriculture across the state.
As a Senior Agriculture Strategy Officer, you'll manage and coordinate a range of high-level policy initiatives that inform the direction of agriculture in NSW. Your work will directly support the Strategy's goals: identifying opportunities, tackling constraints, and delivering targeted government action to maximise the sector's contribution to a vibrant economy.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the long-term future of agriculture - from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead complex research and analysis to identify emerging issues and develop evidence-based policy solutions
* Deliver expert advice to stakeholders, supporting effective implementation of policies aligned with the Agriculture Sector Strategy
* Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and input into critical decision-making
* Monitor, evaluate and report on policy initiatives to ensure effective delivery and outcomes
* Mentor and support team members to ensure high-quality outputs and governance compliance
* Prepare briefs, reports, and publications that inform government decisions and reflect the priorities of the Agricultural Strategy team
About You
You're a skilled policy professional with the confidence to lead, collaborate, and influence. You have a deep understanding of government processes, a strategic mindset, and a passion for sustainable agriculture. Whether navigating complexity or mentoring junior staff, you bring clarity, focus, and purpose to every project.
Key knowledge and experience
* Experience in project management including the ability to manage multiple projects with competing timeframes, set priorities, meet deadlines and work as part of a team.
Applying is easy
