Job Title: Litigation Specialist
Job Description:
This role sits within the Appeals and Crime arm of the Registry and primarily supports the work of the Court of Appeal (Civil) under the supervision of Principal and Senior Lawyers.
The ideal candidate will actively case manage civil appellate cases to ensure they are progressed efficiently, reviewing, analysing and synthesising case material to draft correspondence, legal and factual memoranda, summaries and chronologies. Additionally, they will oversee the preparation of appeal books for consideration of judicial officers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Case management to progress civil appellate cases efficiently
* Review and analysis of case material
* Drafting of correspondence and legal documents
* Preparation of appeal books for judicial officers
* Provision of procedural guidance to court-users
Requirements:
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong attention to detail
* High-level interpersonal and organisational/planning skills
* Tertiary qualification in law and admission to practice
* Post-admission experience in corporations law, commercial litigation, personal injury or administrative law is highly desirable
