The ACT Government is seeking to appoint up to three non-executive Board members to the Icon Water Board, including the potential Chair or Deputy Chair.
* Experience as an effective non-executive director with knowledge of legal, ethical, fiduciary and financial responsibilities under Corporations law (required)
* Experience demonstrating financial acumen for sound decision making and understanding of commercial operations and transactions processes (required)
* Understanding of the structure, operation, customer-focused nature and challenges of the Australian water and energy industries (desirable).
Candidates require substantial qualifications, knowledge and experience in one or more areas:
* Government relations management - Interaction with government, understanding of government process management and public policy involvement
* Financial/commercial business management – Significant experience assessing financial data and thorough understanding of commercial operations and transaction processes
* Engineering and major projects - Engineering design, project procurement and delivery in the water or energy sector or similar industry
* Asset management, operations and maintenance - Translation of asset strategic direction, overseeing day-to-day utility operations, maintenance and risk management
* Digital/ICT/business transformation skills - ICT strategies and governance, leveraging digital solutions and managing cyber security risks.
Successful candidates will be nominated for appointment to the subsidiary boards and may also sit on additional committees of the board.
