Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) is offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Oncology Nurse to step into a senior clinician role within our Oncology Day Unit (ODU). The role: Fixed-Term, Part-Time role, 32.0 hours per fortnight to 30.06.2026
In this pivotal role, you will provide expert nursing leadership and contribute to the ongoing development and coordination of oncology and haematology care services. You'll be a trusted clinical voice supporting patients, families, and healthcare teams through all stages of the cancer journey. Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Leading the development of nurse-led care coordination for complex cancer patients
- Strengthening communication between inpatient teams and the Gippsland Regional Cancer Centre
- Supporting the Symptom and Urgent Review Clinic (SURC) through the completion of supportive care tools
- Facilitating coordinated care for haematology patients, ensuring access to timely and appropriate referrals
- Promoting a high standard of holistic care in a safe, supportive environment for patients and their families

Key Requirements:
- A minimum of five years post-graduation nursing experience in the acute sector with a significant number of these years' working with cancer patients.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse & post-graduate qualifications in cancer nursing or working towards
- Demonstrated expertise and autonomy in cancer nursing clinical leadership with advanced knowledge, skills and understanding of the specialised needs of cancer patients in the rural setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and be a confident decision maker, utilising well developed clinical analysis skills and evidence based tools to effectively advocate for best patient outcomes.
