About The Chance
As a Registered Nurse in the Discharge Lounge, you play a vital role in facilitating safe, timely, and patient‑centred discharges from the hospital. You are responsible for coordinating final treatments, ensuring medications and documentation are complete, and supporting patients as they transition from inpatient care to home or another care setting.
Your role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, effective communication with patients and families, and maintaining a calm, welcoming environment that prioritises comfort and dignity.
This position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent time management, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities throughout the day. You’ll monitor patients awaiting discharge, respond to their evolving needs, and ensure all discharge criteria are met. By streamlining patient flow and freeing up inpatient beds, your work directly contributes to hospital efficiency and enhances the overall patient experience.
What You'll Be Doing
The Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person‑centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.
