The opportunity
Funds SA is seeking a
Senior Fund Accountant
to join our team and play a pivotal role in investment operations. In this position, you will work with critical financial systems and processes while driving innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the team.
This is a dynamic role where you will have the opportunity to work on complex investment activities, ensuring the smooth execution of daily operations while contributing to strategic initiatives.

Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Fund Accountant at Funds SA, you will be responsible for:
* Monitoring daily cash requirements across various asset classes and investment options.
* Coordinating and implementing investment activities such as transition events, restructures, and overlay strategies.
* Collaborating with internal teams to execute unit registry transactions accurately and efficiently.
* Preparing or authorising instructions for custodians regarding new fund accounts, investments, user access changes, or other required actions.
* Acting as the primary contact for day-to-day operational matters with custodians while supporting senior leadership with performance reporting.
* Mentoring, supporting, and overseeing junior staff to foster their development and success.
What You Will Bring
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
* At least 4–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or investment roles within complex environments requiring high attention to detail.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel along with strong skills in accounting or finance systems.
* A proven ability to quickly learn new technologies or processes.
* Strong analytical skills paired with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* Experience working at or with custodians (highly desirable but not essential).
* A degree in finance, commerce, or accounting (essential).
* CA/CPA or equivalent professional qualifications (highly desirable but not essential).
