We have a great opportunity to fill the exciting role of Koorie Student Support Officer at GOTAFE. This important role will provide support in and out of the classroom to Koorie students who require academic support. Along with increasing Koorie student engagement in learning, you will play a key part in providing a supportive and culturally appropriate environment for our students.
This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander designated position, classified under Section 12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act
This employment opportunity is only available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
As the successful candidate you will have:
* Certificate IV in Education Support / Community Services (or willingness to obtain) or a combination of lesser qualifications and experience.
* Demonstrated experience in providing a supportive and culturally safe environment.
* An understanding of Indigenous communities and ability to identify needs of relevant community groups
* An understanding of the issues encountered by Indigenous students in entering a formal educational setting such as TAFE.
* The ability to establish relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
If you are successful in this role you will be required to provide:
* A current Police Check (date of issue is to be no more than 6 months prior to commencement date)
* A current Victorian Working with Children Check - Employee (or proof of application)
* A current Driver's Licence (Car).
The salary is PACCT 4 under the GOTAFE Enterprise PACCT Agreement 2023.
