Moyne Shire is currently seeking a manager - Communicate Moyne who will be responsible for best practice communication, public relations, branding, advocacy and the strategic direction for advocacy, libraries, arts and culture, customer service and youth. The role oversees and has management and accountability of communications, publications, website, media functions as well as an advocacy agenda with state and federal governments.
This is a newly created role and has been identified as a priority for Council and will be critical in establishing a positive image of Moyne within the community, promoting projects, services and activities effectively.
To be successful in this role you will need Qualifications Essential
* Tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant to communications, advocacy journalism, community development and/or:
* Minimum five years’ local government experience in the field/s in a supervisory capacity.
* Current Victorian driver licence
* Current employee working with children check
Experience
* Demonstrated expertise in developing and execution of communications and advocacy campaigns and implementation of best practice engagement (including IAP2).
* Experience in public relations, communications or engagement in a high-pressure environment.

Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams to deliver communication and advocacy outcomes in complex or fast‑paced environments.
Key selection criteria 2
Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, work collaboratively across disciplines, and manage competing priorities while maintaining high professional standards.
Key selection criteria 3
Proven capability to lead advocacy initiatives and influence outcomes through effective engagement with government, media, partners and community stakeholders.
Key selection criteria 4
Ability to develop comprehensive, targeted communications campaigns and deliver meaningful, genuine community engagement, supported by a strong understanding of news, current affairs, trends, and engagement practices relevant to Council and local government.
