About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and strategic Manager – Community Programmes & Volunteering to lead impactful community services across the Hunter and Central Coast regions.
This is a leadership role for someone passionate about making a real community impact, empowering volunteers, and leading high-performing teams.
In this role, you will shape and oversee programs that help older people, people living with disability, and carers remain connected, supported and independent in their communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support coordinators delivering Community Transport, Meals on Wheels, and social activity programs
* Identify opportunities to grow or enhance community programs to better meet local needs
* Oversee community programs that promote connection and independence
* Strengthen and grow a sustainable volunteer network that supports community service delivery
* Build strong partnerships with councils, community organisations, and key stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with Aged Care, NDIS, transport, and WHS standards
* Foster a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing team culture
About You
You’re a purpose-driven, hands-on leader with strategic vision and practical problem-solving skills. You build strong relationships, inspire your team and volunteers, and are genuinely committed to improving the lives of people in your community.
Essential
* Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Social Work, Human Services, Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Experience leading volunteer programs or volunteer engagement initiatives
* Knowledge of Aged Care and/or NDIS standards
* Understanding of Community Transport and Meals on Wheels services
* Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
* A Current Driver’s License
* Immunisation History Statement
* Comprehensive screening and background check will apply
Desirable
* Experience with grant writing or funding applications
* Project management experience, including development of business cases
Special Considerations:
* Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for community meetings or events.
* Travel across the Central Coast and Hunter regions will be required
