Full-time ongoing position (part-time considered).
Salary range: $110,357 – $127,333 (pro-rata), plus super and salary packaging.
Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and a hybrid WFH & office model.
Relocation support available.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality legal services, represent clients, and conduct casework in family law and family violence, including intervention-order matters.
Provide legal supervision, mentoring, and training to junior lawyers.
Work as a duty lawyer in the Magistrates' Court and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, including the Family Advocacy and Support Services (FASS) project.
Help develop legal education programs and take part in policy and law reform projects.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer to broaden leadership and mentoring skills while contributing to improved family-law services for clients.
About you
Strong knowledge of Family Law and crossover jurisdictions, including family violence and child protection, with experience in relevant court processes.
Ability to develop, supervise, and mentor junior staff.
Ability to work collaboratively with others and foster a cooperative and supportive team environment.
High-level interpersonal skills, including the ability to form productive professional relationships and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
A current Australian practising certificate that entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
Entitlement to practise in federal courts and courts exercising federal jurisdiction (entry on the High Court's Register of Practitioners) (mandatory).
