About the project
DCOH has been engaged to deliver the proposed new Civic Centre project, a transformative $150 million development designed to reflect Darwin's cultural heritage and meet its growing needs.

* Large Scale, PCA A Grade Project: The $150 million Civic Centre Project offers significant opportunities for hands-on experience in delivering a 21-storey premium PCA A Grade commercial building right in the heart of the city.
* Diverse and Multifaceted Scope: The project encompasses a variety of functional spaces, including customer services, council chambers, office areas, and a public plaza, alongside operational elements such as carparking and building infrastructure.
* Commitment to Long-Term Community Impact: With construction expected to create over 500 jobs and designs honouring Galamarrma, the Tree of Knowledge, this project aligns with principles of sustainable development and cultural respect.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a skilled construction professional with experience in the structural phase of the build. You have a solid grasp of concrete, steel, and formwork, and you know how to read complex drawings with accuracy. You understand the reality of site constraints and enjoy solving technical queries before they become delays.
In addition, you demonstrate the following:
* Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
* More than 3 years' experience in project coordination or site engineering, with a focus on building structure.
* Familiar with Australian Standards, NCC/BCA, and authority processes for structural works.
* Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills.
* Proficient in MS Office, project management software, and document control systems (e.g., Aconex, TeamBinder).
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, site-based environment and manage multiple priorities.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Project Coordinator – Structure is responsible for supporting the delivery of structural building works from design coordination through to construction and handover. This role involves the planning, documentation, procurement coordination, site support, and communication functions necessary to ensure the structural elements of the project are executed safely, accurately, and on time.
Collaborating closely with site and project teams, the Project Coordinator plays a key role in the administration and technical oversight of structural packages, including concrete, steelwork, formwork, reinforcement, and associated temporary works, to ensure compliance with design documentation, programme targets, safety obligations, and statutory requirements.
In this role, you will perform the following but not limited to:
* Manage RFIs and structural design queries while reviewing drawings for buildability, sequencing, and accuracy.
* Support the site team with the coordination of concrete pours, steel erection, and reinforcement installation to ensure accurate set-out.
* Monitor structural progress against milestones and track lead times for key materials like reo, formwork, and post-tensioned components.
* Liaise with structural subcontractors to ensure strict compliance with contract scope, safety, quality, and program requirements.
* Champion site safety by ensuring all works and subcontractors align with DCOH HSEQ systems and WHS legislation.
* Implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), coordinating pre-pour inspections, concrete test results, and quality checks with engineers.
* Ensure all structural works comply with Australian Standards, NCC/BCA, engineering specifications, and authority approvals.
* Maintain robust project records including as-built information, drawing registers, and variation logs to ensure full traceability of structural works.
* Act as a central link between site teams, consultants, and project management to resolve structural coordination matters efficiently.
