About the Role: Assistant Director, Workplace Integrity Classification: Executive Level 1 (EL1) Location: Flexible (National) Start Date: ASAP Contract Length: ASAP until December 2026 Pay: Depends on the experience Engagement Type: Contract About the Role The EL1 Assistant Director Workplace Integrity has a concurrent requirement to resolve issues and risks across a broad range of activities of substantial depth involving significant detail and to provide support to the team leadership of their work area in the planning and coordination of the team.
The role will demonstrate the ability to deliver human resources services within a public service context. It provides critical operational and strategic advice to stakeholders through the interpretation and application of employment legislation, government policies, employee relations best practice and the Agency's Enterprise Agreement and related policies. The EL1 Assistant Director Workplace Integrity will work within an agile and fast paced environment where priorities evolve quickly and will exercise a considerable degree of independence and professionalism in dealing with highly confidential and complex matters.
The role is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and may be required to represent and negotiate on behalf of the Agency to advance the Agency's interests across a range of forums. Key Responsibilities Researching, interpreting and applying an extensive knowledge of the APS HR legislation and policies and Agency's Enterprise Agreement and related HR policies to provide advice, support and management relating to complex people matters.
* Undertaking risk evaluation processes to make decisions, with limited direction, on the appropriate course of action to address very complex people matters in often challenging environments with multiple impacts.
* Undertaking Code of Conduct investigations and case management in accordance with the Public Service Act 1999.
* Conducting primary Reviews of Action and case managing secondary Reviews of Action under Section 33 of the Public Service Act 1999.
* Undertaking case management of External Jurisdiction matters in collaboration with the Legal Services Branch.
* Reviewing, analysing and managing Agency policies·
Assessing, reporting and analysing case metrics to provide P&C Executive with meaningful, accurate and timely data in order to anticipate issues, inform decisions and steer the direction of people management. Key Capabilities In-depth Legislation Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the APS HR legislative framework and the Public Service Act 1999.
Independence & Accountability: The ability to work under broad direction while delivering high-quality outcomes and managing demanding workloads. Stakeholder Management: Exceptional skills in building relationships, negotiating on behalf of the Agency, and representing the Agency's interests across various forums. Emotional Intelligence : The resilience and empathy required to deal with challenging conversations, behaviors, and confronting situations.
Sound Governance: A commitment to maintaining high standards of practice through rigorous risk management and leadership in workplace health and safety. Qualifications HR/Legal Experience: Extensive experience delivering human resources services within a public service context, particularly in workplace relations or integrity.
