Posted: 3 May
Offer description

ElectraNet builds, owns, operates, and maintains the South Australian high voltage electricity transmission network that delivers energy from generators to distributors and major load-connected customers, enabling power to be supplied to homes, businesses, and communities. Our employees describe our culture as one that is supportive, inclusive, and community-oriented, where we genuinely want each other to succeed.

The Opportunity

As an Experienced Engineering Draftsperson, you'll play a critical role in delivering high‐quality technical drawings that underpin some of South Australia's most important transmission and substation projects.

Working closely with Engineers, Project Engineering Managers and Subject Matter Experts, this role is responsible for producing and maintaining accurate, detailed CAD drawings across substations, transmission lines, protection, automation and telecommunications. You'll also provide guidance and support to less experienced drafters, contributing to continuous improvement in drafting standards and document control.

Based in Adelaide, this full‐time role will also cover the following key responsibilities:

* Produce high‐quality civil, structural and electrical CAD drawings to support transmission and substation projects.
* Prepare substation single line diagrams, layouts and elevations for primary and secondary systems.
* Develop protection and automation schematics and single line diagrams.
* Prepare transmission line layouts and network‐related drawings.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of design standard templates.
* Coordinate and maintain technical drawings and documentation in line with ElectraNet standards.
* Ensure drawings are delivered accurately within agreed timeframes.
* Apply best‐practice drafting, document control and engineering management processes.
* Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders across the business to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Support continuous improvement of drafting systems, standards and tools.
* Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced members of the drafting team.

This role is well suited to an experienced power or utilities draftsperson who enjoys technical precision, collaboration, and contributing to large‐scale infrastructure delivery.

About You

You're a technically capable and detail‐focused draftsperson with experience working in complex engineering or utilities environments. You take pride in accuracy, enjoy working collaboratively, and understand the importance of producing drawings that meet both compliance and operational needs.

To be successful, you will bring:

* Demonstrated experience in engineering drafting within high voltage environments.
* Proven exposure to primary and/or secondary high voltage drafting, including substation layouts and elevations, single line diagrams and protection and automation schematics.
* Experience preparing drawings for substations and/or transmission lines.
* Working knowledge of Bentley MicroStation (or AutoCAD) for electrical layouts and schematics.
* Exposure to utility or electricity network drafting.
* Understanding of drawing management systems such as SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) or similar.
* Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with engineers and project teams.
* Minimum diploma level qualification or at least 5 years of significant and relevant industry experience.

Employee Benefits

ElectraNet is committed to empowering our people and recognising their contribution with a competitive remuneration package. For this role, we are proud to offer a starting base salary of $117,300 plus 12% superannuation and bonus eligibility of up to 15%.

Other benefits include:

* 15 days personal/carers leave per year.
* 5 weeks of annual leave per year.
* 16 weeks paid parental leave.
* Additional paid volunteering and office closure leave.
* Flexible work practices and wellbeing support.
* Relocation and visa support for this Adelaide based role.
* Paid volunteering leave and cultural celebration flexibility.
* Exciting projects, professional development, and a vibrant and inclusive team culture.
* Support for professional certification and memberships.
* Regular social events and activities.
