Geotechnical Engineer Role
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our underground hard rock mines.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Engineering or Geoscience focusing on Mining or Geotechnical Engineering, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in underground hard rock mining.
* Adhere to regulatory requirements and develop comprehensive ground control management plans.
* Conduct thorough inspections and geotechnical mapping to ensure accurate data for mine planning.
* Design and reconcile stoping excavations and mine development projects.
* Log core samples and ensure high-quality QA/QC for ground support installations.
* Monitor excavations through damage mapping and hazard assessments.
* Collaborate with the mining team to optimize mine scheduling and sequencing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proficiency in numerical modeling software (Flac3D and Map3D preferred).
* Familiarity with mine design software (e.g Deswik Suite).
* Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-resolution skills.
* High level of accuracy and time management.
* Australian Manual Drivers Licence or international equivalent.
