About the role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team at Ottoman Cuisine' in Canberra ACT 2600. As a full-time Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and delivering a range of delicious baked goods and desserts to delight our customers.
What you'll be doing
* Developing and executing recipes for a variety of pastries, breads, cakes, and other baked goods
* Ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and consistency in all baked products
* Overseeing the daily operations of the pastry kitchen, including inventory management, food cost control, and adherence to health and safety regulations
* Collaborating with the culinary team to create innovative desserts and menu items
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient pastry kitchen
What we're looking for
* Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pastry Chef in a reputable restaurant or hospitality establishment
* Strong technical skills in baking and pastry-making, with a keen eye for detail and presentation
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the culinary team
* Passion for creating delicious and visually appealing desserts
* Familiarity with food safety and quality control procedures
* Adaptability to follow or develop recipes, and introduce new baked goods to the menu
