We pride ourselves on a supportive culture that values teamwork, learning, and safe work practices. Your new role We are seeking x3 experienced Qualified Carpenters to join our Carpentry division. Reporting to the Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality carpentry work across playground and landscape construction projects. Working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects through safe, efficient and precise workmanship, while also supporting apprentices and junior team members on site. This role offers consistent work, professional stability and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that directly impact children’s learning and play. Your duties: Carpentry & Site Works Construct, install and repair timber and composite structures Complete framing, decking, formwork, cladding, sanding, staining and finishing works Measure, cut, assemble and fit materials accurately Build and install playground elements including frames, forts, platforms and fencing Read and interpret drawings, plans and technical documents Assist with daily site setup, pack-down, tool preparation and equipment organisation Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely Quality & Compliance Ensure all work meets Australian building standards and Excape Group quality requirements Complete self-checks and report defects or variations promptly Maintain high standards of workmanship with minimal rework Health, Safety & Site Conduct Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements and SWMS Participate in daily pre-starts and toolbox talks Maintain a clean, safe and hazard-free workspace Promote and role-model safe work practices at all times Communication & Teamwork Work respectfully and communicate clearly and professionally with your team Provide updates on progress or site constraints as required Support and guide apprentice carpenters and junior team members Contribute positively to team culture and collaboration About you You’re a qualified carpenter who takes pride in your work and enjoys hands-on, outdoor projects. You’re reliable, safety-focused and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. To be considered for this role, you will: Hold a Certificate III in Carpentry Have proven experience in framing, decks, pergolas or general carpentry Be confident in reading and interpreting plans and specifications Have a strong work ethic, attention to detail and problem-solving skills Follow instructions safely and accurately Have good communication skills and a team-focused attitude Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour (lifting up to 25kg) Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle A White Card Working With Children Check & Police Check (or willingness to obtain) Full Australian working rights What we offer At Excape Group, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge, while also enjoying: The opportunity to contribute to fun, meaningful landscaping projects in early education centres.
