About This Role
As a senior mechanical engineering professional, you will be responsible for undertaking advanced scope and complexity engineering tasks. You will work closely with business leaders to share knowledge and advance the business.
* Perform technical work involving independence in approach, originality, ingenuity and judgement.
* Serve as a technical specialist for the organisation in applying advanced concepts, principles and methods.
* Act as a work champion for new or existing clients, developing bids and proposals and liaising with program managers.
* Provide technical advice to management and business units, directing or advising on equipment or material use.
* Supervise and review the work of engineers, designers/drafters, and technicians.
* Share knowledge and act as a mentor within area of expertise or across the business.
* Adhere to quality, safety and environmental procedures/standards.
* Liaise with clients for service delivery, networking and business development.
* Contribute to thought leadership through work and/or authoring papers and presenting at events.
Main Responsibilities
* Review and audit of machine design and associated structures and components.
* Concept and detailed design of machinery and associated structures and components.
* Testing, measurement and stress analysis using techniques like finite element modelling, CFD and DEM.
* Failure and fatigue analysis involving machines and structural components.
* Develop and maintain specialist software.
* Prepare reports, manuals, drawings and documentation.
* Promote company capabilities to clients and fellow employees.
* Perform inspection of machinery including mining and ports equipment.
You will need experience working with machinery such as stackers, reclaimers, excavators, minerals processing plant, mobile mining machinery, underground mining, draglines, belt conveyors, rolling stock, ship loaders, port machinery, cranes etc. A bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant area is required, along with minimum 15 years' experience post-graduation and registration with a recognised engineering body. Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong organisation skills, initiative and client-focused commercially aware are also essential.
