Location Profile

St Georges Road Primary School is situated just south of the Central Business District in Shepparton and has an enrolment of about 370 students. We believe that the success of each child relies on a strong partnership between staff, students and parents. St Georges Rd primary School provides a comprehensive curriculum which includes sound organisational structure, whole school planning and systematic approach to evaluation and development. Planning, implementation, and assessment of curriculum is developed against the Victorian Curriculum. Staff form part of three key teams: Literacy, Numeracy and Social Curriculum. There is a strong collaborative ethos across all levels of the school.

Our school offers specialist programs. Individual differences are catered for through differentiated curriculum, and includes literacy and numeracy intervention and extension, an EAL program. The Library, STEM room and Multipurpose hall complement these programs. A Before and After School Care program, breakfast club, homework clubs and lunchtime enrichment programs cater for all students. Additional programs that enrich our school community includes a community hub, a visiting paediatrician, play therapy and speech support. On our site we have a preschool and the Shepparton English language Centre.

Teachers at our school are excited about education and are constantly learning and growing. Our school shows children a caring community by working together and supporting and respecting one another. There is a strong sense of community at St Georges Rd primary School.

Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated a level of initiative to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team and take direction from teachers and school leadership
- Demonstrated strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software applications quickly.

Demonstrated strong written communication skills, including the capacity to clearly convey information, craft professional emails, and adapt writing style to suit difference audiences and purposes.

Role

Victoria has secured funding from the Australian Government¿s Workload Reduction Fund to trial a new type of Education Support role in schools to reduce teacher workload. The Teacher Administration Assistant will play an integral role in supporting a reduction in teacher workload. The role involves performing a variety of tasks typically undertaken by teachers that do not require a teaching qualification, VIT registration, or the specific skills and knowledge of a teacher. The Teacher Administration Assistant will undertake these responsibilities and reduce the workload of teachers.

Responsibilities

- a ssisting with preparing equipment for students with additional needs
- administrative support for school excursions
- auditing, ordering and organising teacher supplies and purchasing event specific supplies.
- Supporting teachers in following up with families regarding reminders for classroom specific events, permission forms, assemblies etc.
- Following school-determined processes for actioning external service requests, such as NDIS providers. For example, booking rooms, developing timetables, collecting and checking permissions and updating routine records for teachers.
- Entering and uploading teacher data or documents onto online systems
- Collating and displaying student work across sections and in school communications
- Organising resources and equipment for lunch time clubs

- Valid Working with Children check
- Prior experience working in administrative roles is desirable
