The opportunity
Take on a rewarding locum placement in Napranum, a small Aboriginal community located on the western Cape York Peninsula. You'll work as part of a supportive team of nurses and Aboriginal Health Practitioners, providing culturally appropriate primary healthcare in a community-focused setting.
The clinic operates Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with Best Practice software and a minimum of 20 minutes per consultation. There are no after-hours, on-call, or weekend requirements, allowing for a balanced and meaningful locum experience.

About the location
Napranum is a coastal Aboriginal community of around 1,000 residents, situated just 10 km from Weipa on the Gulf of Carpentaria. The community has a strong cultural identity and close connection to country, offering a unique environment to both live and work.
The nearby town of Weipa provides additional amenities including shops, cafes, and services, while Napranum itself offers access to stunning fishing, beaches, and cultural experiences.
How to get there

Essential criteria
* Fellowship with RACGP and / or ACRRM
* Current AHPRA Specialist GP Registration
* Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
* Experience in rural or remote healthcare, ideally Indigenous health
* Cultural awareness and respect for Aboriginal communities
