The Hub Preschool is a local family-owned childcare service, operating in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region. We currently operate 6 centres and will be expanding over the next few years to 9 centres. Founded in 2016, we have a passion for quality childcare, and we focus on creating environments which foster children's natural curiosity, creativity and critical thinking skills.
We are seeking applications for an experienced Finance Manager to join our Head Office team, and to be a critical part of our ongoing success.
Your new role
You will be leading a small team to implement our financial strategy, overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, payroll, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as execution of internal control policies and procedures.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
* Implementing and monitoringfinancial plans andgrowth objectives
* Overseeing all financial operations including AR, AP, payroll & cashflow management
* Maintaining internal accounting controls
* Monthly financial reporting to the Hub Preschool Board
* Monitoring budget compliance; assisting centre directors in ensuring cost-effectiveness within operations whilst maintaining quality
* Optimising cashflow & utilisation of financial resources
* Conducting and participating in audits as required
* Interpreting, implementing and monitoring new childcare legislation and funding models as applicable to the accounting system
What you'll need to succeed
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
* Advanced tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business-related disciplines
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
* Proficient & demonstrated use of accounting, risk management, financial modelling systems & software
* Strong & demonstrated experience preparing and analysing budgets, long-term financial plans & financial statements
* Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team todeliver on-target profitability; the ability to provide guidance and support for the team as they achieve both personal and team goals
* Advanced user level knowledge of Xero andExcel
* Knowledge & understanding of the Child Care Subsidy System
* Knowledge & experience of the OWNA Childcare Management software would be highly regarded
* Contemporary knowledge of taxation and regulatory requirements
* High levels of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy at all times

* Current, cleared Working with Children Check

* National Personal Insolvency Index Check
