About the Opportunity
The CNS2 is a senior member of the Murrumbidgee Local Health District nursing workforce, providing high-level, patient-centred, evidence-based care. The role supports practice development, extended autonomy, and advanced clinical decision-making to deliver complex care, including assessment, intervention, care coordination, and recovery-oriented treatment for young people experiencing early psychosis.
Working across Griffith and Wagga Wagga, the CNS2 aims to reduce the impact of psychosis, support functional recovery, and strengthen community-based supports through timely, evidence-based care.
As the CNs – Early Psychosis Intervention Team, you will:
* Conducts comprehensive nursing assessments and provides expert consultation to patients, families, and staff
* Delivers specialist clinical leadership, mentoring, and education to enhance staff capability
* Supports a culture of learning and evidence-based practice
* Provides physical health monitoring, medication management, and care planning
* Acts as a professional role model, advocating for patients, supporting clinical governance, and contributing to policy and procedure development
* Collaborates effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, carers, and other health professionals

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* Minimum 3 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, including at least 3 years postgraduate experience in Mental Health.
* Postgraduate nursing qualifications relevant in Mental Health.
* A strong understanding of the five Clinical Nurse Consultant domains
* Excellent communication, leadership and consultancy skills
* Commitment to continuous learning, consumer-centred care, evidence-based practise, research and service improvement.
