We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead national costing and data quality initiatives that support hospital funding and reform. This role sits within the Costing Projects Section and plays a key role in strengthening the National Hospital Cost Data Collection (NHCDC).
Working closely with senior leaders and external stakeholders, you will manage complex projects, costing studies, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced, policy-driven environment.
This role is open to full time temporary, non-ongoing and S26 transfer opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Director, Costing Projects in delivering the organisation's Work Programme and Strategic Plan
* Lead major national projects, including a Radiation Oncology Costing Study requested by the Minister
* Deliver the Continuous Improvement Programme (CIP) to enhance the quality and outputs of the NHCDC
* Manage procurement of external services in line with organisational requirements
* Take accountability for project delivery, timelines, risks, and outcomes
* Manage and develop staff within the section
* Prepare high-quality documentation, including reports, technical papers, briefings, correspondence, and meeting minutes
* Report to advisory committees and engage with jurisdictions and key stakeholders
* Represent the agency in liaison with external stakeholders, including other government agencies

* Identify, assess, and manage project and organisational risk
* Develop an understanding of the National Health Reform Act and the key pillars of Activity Based Funding (counting, classifying, costing and pricing)
* Background in health, health policy, accounting, finance, or project management
* Experience in data analysis, trend reporting, or data quality improvement
* Knowledge of or exposure to activity-based costing, hospital costing, or large-scale data collections
* Experience working in government or complex stakeholder environments (desirable)
