ROLE SUMMARY :
The purpose of the School Communications Coordinator is to enhance the school's communication strategies and ensure effective engagement with all stakeholders, including principals, admissions, parents, staff, and the broader community. This role is pivotal in crafting and disseminating clear, consistent, and compelling messages that are engaging and support the school's mission and values. By managing various communication channels, such as newsletters, social media, print collateral and the school website, the coordinator ensures that the school's achievements, events, and initiatives are effectively communicated.
Additionally, the role involves creating visually appealing content and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to promote a positive and cohesive school environment. Ultimately, the School Communications Coordinator plays a crucial role in building and maintaining the school's reputation and fostering a sense of community and engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
* Communication Management : Develop and implement communication plans for school initiatives, including newsletters, social media, and website content.
* Content Creation : Write and edit news stories, press releases, and other publications to support the school's mission and values.
* Event Coordination : Assist in organising school events, including managing photo and video shoots, and maintaining photo archives.
* Social Media Champion : Lead the school's social media strategy, creating engaging content and monitoring social media channels to enhance the school's online presence.
* Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including parents, students, staff, and the community, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
* Retention & Acquisition : Implement strategies to improve student retention and new enrolments through effective communication and engagement initiatives. Regular co-ordination with the Reddam Cluster Marketing and Inspired’s Regional Marketing Team is expected.
* Graphic Design : Create and manage visual content for various platforms, including digital signs, promotional materials, and school publications.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE :
* Ability to communicate information concisely and accurately, with a strong attention to detail.
* Familiarity with graphic design software and principles, as well as knowledge of Australian English style guides and ability to follow Brand Guidelines.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Strong problem-solving skills to address communication challenges and find effective solutions.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
* Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and manage projects efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS :
* Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related field.

* Valid Working with Children Check.

* Willingness to participate in school events and activities outside of regular school hours as required.
