Role Overview
The role of Vessel Engineer is a critical position that requires a high level of mechanical expertise and knowledge of marine systems.
As a Vessel Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe mechanical operations of our vessels. This involves performing daily engine and machinery checks on assigned vessels, collaborating with the Master to manage vessel operations in accordance with policies and procedures, diagnosing system problems as they occur, and ensuring all maintenance requirements and actions are recorded accurately.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform daily inspections of engines, pumps, and other critical systems to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
* Collaborate with the Master to develop and implement effective preventative maintenance programs.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot system problems, working closely with the engineering team to resolve issues efficiently.
* Record all maintenance activities and ensure accurate documentation of all work performed.
* Develop and maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, including repair and replacement costs.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have extensive knowledge of marine engines and systems, including installations. You should also have experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing safety measures. Additionally, you must possess exceptional guest service skills, ensuring that guests' expectations are met at all times.
1. Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 NC (MED1) accreditation or equivalent qualification.
2. HLTAID011 Provide First Aid & Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
3. HLTAID015 Advance Oxygen Therapy certification.
4. Responsible Service of Alcohol (QLD) certification.
